Just a short post for Star Wars Day.
I love Star Wars (a crazy and unusual sentiment I know), and I fully believe that it should have a day devoted to it – two days if you count Revenge of the 5th. But I’ve got to be honest with you. Star Wars Day tends to pass by without me noticing. In principle, I should love Star Wars Day, because I’m very rarely not thinking about Star Wars. And I do like that there’s a Star Wars Day. I also like that Lucasfilm/Disney has acknowledged it and I appreciate the discounts on Star Wars games and Lego sets. Still, I always seem to forget. (Sacrilege! Forgetting a birthday would be one thing, but Star Wars Day?)
But I was thinking about it, and I reckon I’ve figured out why I never pay attention. It’s because I spend so much time obsessing about Star Wars, that Star Wars Day doesn’t really stand out to me. To put it differently, every day is Star Wars Day! And thus no individual day is more Star Wars orientated than any other.
Alternatively, I’m just really overthinking this. I just wanted to do a mini-post to say Happy Star Day and that’s really all this is. I’m going to go and rewatch the original trilogy now, which is something I haven’t done in a while.
But please remember that the 4th will be with you, always.
Happy Star Wars Day y’all!
